Cindy DeLuca, a Pittsburgh native, has been with Hearst Broadcasting for 32 years and currently leads WGAL 8 TV, the market-leading NBC affiliate in the Harrisburg Lancaster-Lebanon-York market of south-central PA, as President and General Manager. Since assuming her role in January of 2022, she has championed innovative, community-focused initiatives enhancing audience engagement across multiple platforms and deepening the station’s local impact.
Cindy began her career with eight years at an advertising agency before joining Hearst in radio sales at WVTY-FM , WTAE-AM, and the Steelers Radio Network in Pittsburgh. Transitioning to television in 1997, she rose through leadership positions at WTAE-TV, WPTZ-TV in Vermont, and returned to PA as General Sales Manager at WGAL 8 in 2017.
Recognized with numerous accolades, Cindy’s honors include numerous Hearst awards for sales excellence, the Media Association of Pittsburgh’s 2012 Outstanding Lifetime Achievement in Media award, and a place among American Women in Radio and Television’s “20 Women in the Nation Who Rule in Sales and Marketing” in 2005. Cindy is a 2019 graduate of the National Association of Broadcasters BLT program and a 2024 graduate of the Hearst Management Institute. Under her station leadership, WGAL 8 was recently recognized with 21 Mid-Atlantic Regional Emmy Nominations and honored with the award for Best Evening Newscast for the station’s preeminent 6pm news.
Deeply committed to local broadcasting, Cindy presently serves on the board of the Pennsylvania Association of Broadcasters. To best diversify her service to community, she became a Rotarian while in Vermont and is now a member of the Lancaster Rotary Club. Over the years, she has volunteered for Junior Achievement of Western PA, served as a visiting instructor at Duquesne University, mentored
military veterans through American Corporate Partners, and guided youth ministry with Habitat for Humanity.
Cindy enjoys the outdoors in any season whether golfing, biking, skiing, or just a casual stroll. Her greatest joy is spending time with her extensive family including her husband, two adult children, 3-year-old grandson, and many siblings, nieces and nephews.
