The Aaron’s Acres Board of Directors is an important group of supporters dedicated to the mission and vision of the organization.
They become involved for a variety of reasons, but why they continue to stay and support Aaron’s Acres is even more significant.
Why did our board members choose to join the Aaron’s Acres Board of Directors?
Why do our board members continue to invest their time and energy in Aaron’s Acres? Let’s find out!
William J. Zee – Current Board President
AARON’S ACRES DEDICATES ITSELF TO FOCUSING ON THE GIFTS WE SEE IN ALL OF THOSE WE SERVE.
“I have been privileged to serve on the Aaron’s Acres Board since 2007. I initially chose to serve on the Board because I deeply value the important and necessary work we do for our community. Through my experiences as an attorney and educator, I have witnessed first-hand the lack of resources and programs devoted to the needs of individuals with the need for additional support to fully experience what so many of us take for granted. Aaron’s Acres, and its incredible staff, dedicates itself to focusing on the gifts we see in all of those we serve, and supporting them in having fun while learning, growing, and succeeding. I remain passionate about our mission and committed to seeing only ability where so many others focus on disability.”
Hayden McDevitt – Current Board Member
THERE IS SIMPLY NO OTHER PROGRAM LIKE IT.
“I have been invested with Aaron’s Acres over the years because there is simply no other program like it around. From the smiles on the children’s faces, to the laughter heard throughout an Aaron’s Acres event, you can see that Aaron’s Acres truly makes a difference in people’s lives. I don’t just mean the children’s lives… You cannot experience Aaron’s Acres without feeling that you are becoming a better person for it. I will continue to invest in the future because of their dedication to continually growing their services and programs that they offer.”
Meredith Jorgensen Cooke – Current Board Member
AARON’S ACRES MAKES EACH KID FEEL IMPORTANT, SAFE AND LOVED.
“I have been aware of the amazing work Aaron’s Acres does for more than 2 decades covering stories about it’s programs for WGAL News 8. Yet as a member of the Aaron’s Acres Board, it’s been eye opening to see exactly how impactful this organization is to the young people it serves. I am honored to invest my time, money and resources for a non-profit that makes such a difference in the lives of children who are often overlooked.
Aaron’s Acres makes each kid feel important, safe and loved – things every parent wants for their children. Plus, programming also takes parents and the family as whole into account, realizing it takes a village to help these children flourish. As part of that greater “village,” Aaron’s Acres is growing and I’m committed to seeing the organization through to its next stage – including a Capital Campaign, a new home and expansion of programing for young adults. I can’t wait to cover stories about Aaron’s Acres for decades to come!”
Christi Beazley – Current Board Member
I HAVE WATCHED THE PARTICIPANTS WE SERVE DEVELOP MEANINGFUL RELATIONSHIPS WHILE GROWING, PLAYING AND HAVING FUN.
Aaron’s Acres captured my heart in my first meeting with the executive director 13 years ago and it has never let go. Serving on the board has been an amazing privilege as I have watched the participants we serve develop meaningful relationships while growing, playing and having fun. The team at Aaron’s Acres is a true example of care, compassion, and the finest teamwork in any business. I am continually inspired by the strength of our participants’ parents who support, encourage and advocate for their children and for Aaron’s Acres. Our supporters and donors believe in our mission and support faithfully in all we do. I am blessed to be a part of this incredible organization.

AARON’S ACRES MAKES A DIFFERENCE IN THE COMMUNITY.
I have been invested in being on the Board for Aarons Acres out of passion for the issues and cause, personal experience and the enthusiasm for Aaron’s Acres from the Executive Director and staff!
Aarons Acres makes a difference in the community. And the motivation I receive from other board members is truly the best experience.

AFTER SEEING THE INTERACTION BETWEEN THE CHILDREN WITH EITHER THEIR COUNSELOR OR BUDDY, I WAS HOOKED.
Being the dad of 4 ‘typical’ children, I was very moved upon reading an article about Aaron’s Acres in the Lancaster newspaper, and the work done by the director. That prompted me to arrange for a visit, and after seeing the interaction between the children with either their counselor or buddy, I was hooked and became a member of the team.
