The 2021 camp season is going strong! Today we wrapped up 10 days of camp filled with laughter, smiles and wonderful memories. At camp, in addition to staff and participants, we had 27 community members volunteer as camp photographers. These volunteers were tasked with taking pictures of campers enjoying daily activities. Staff then use these photographs to create individual memory books with their campers as keepsakes from their 2 weeks of camp.
Aaron’s Acres is blessed to have meaningful relationships with the following businesses/individuals who volunteered during session 1:
- Fulton Bank
- Rodgers & Associates Wealth Advisors
- Appel, Yost & Zee LLP
- 1847Financial
- BB&T Bank
- Individual members of the larger community
Aaron’s Acres is bringing together people of all different backgrounds, abilities and experiences as we welcome local businesses and community members to camp. Volunteers have the unique opportunity to learn about our programs, participants and camp in a fun, recreational setting and Aaron’s Acres has the chance to raise awareness and understanding people with various disabilities.
At Aaron’s Acres, people see children and young adults having fun, doing what everyone else does. Even with accommodations and support from others, participants are engaged in typical camp activities from crafts and music to pool time and physical fitness.
We want to thank all those who volunteered these past 2 weeks! As we look at session 2 and session 3, we will be welcoming approximately 50 people from different businesses in Lancaster County as volunteer camp photographers. The result is an enriched, stronger community for all.
