Activity #1: Strike up some conversation
Supplies
- Beach Ball
- Sharpie
Directions
- Inflate your beach ball!
- Write questions on the beach ball. These can be anything you want and tailored to the type of activity you are trying to create.
- Pass the beach ball back and forth, asking and answering questions.
- For a group, play hot potato with the ball and some fun music. When the music stops, the person who has the ball will answer one of the questions.
Activity #2: Handprint Fish Puppets
Supplies
- Scrapbook Paper or Cardstock Paper
- Craft Rhinestones
- School Glue
- Jumbo Popsicle Sticks
- Craft Scissors
- Medium Sized Googly Eyes
- Pencil or Pen
Directions
- Trace out the child’s hand on the paper and trim out the design with scissors.
- Repeat for how many handprint fish you want to create today.
- Next is the customization part!
- Idea: cut some heart-shaped lips out of orange colored cardstock and glue them near the palms of the handprint cutouts
- Idea: glue on some googly eyes
- Idea: add on sequins, rhinestones, glitter, etc.
- Once you are done customizing your fish, set all of your handprint fish puppets aside and let them dry.
- To complete your puppet, glue some popsicle sticks to the back of your cutouts and then again, set them aside to let them dry completely.
- Now it’s time to get creative and use the fish in a puppet show and/or any other adventure you may have in mind.
- You can also skip the popsicle sticks and use these for summer or beach decorations.
