October Program Activity Idea: Mummy Craft

Are you looking for a fun and festive craft this spooky season? Here is a great seasonal activity for hand-eye coordination and a fun idea for fall.

Mummy Paper Plate Lacing Craft

Supplies

  • Sturdy, white paper plate
  • White yarn
  • Extra large googly eyes
  • Black marker
  • Single hole punch
  • Scissors
  • Glue

Directions

  1. Begin by making your mummy’s face.
  2. Glue on the extra large googly eyes and draw on a mouth with marker. This doesn’t have to be precise as it will be covered over with the yarn.
  3. Punch holes around the edge of the paper plate. Every half an inch is suggested.
  4. To start the lacing, cut a long piece of yarn, thread it up through the top holes from the back then back through the corresponding top holes and tie it off in a knot.
  5. Then, begin lacing. Up and through and across and however you want until your mummy is completely bandaged!
  6. When you run out of a string of yarn, simply tie or tape it off in back and tie in a new piece.
