Program Activity Ideas for the End of the School Year!

Activity Idea #1: Popsicle Stick Photo Puzzle

Supplies

  • Large colored popsicle sticks
  • Photo of child or children

Directions

  1. Print a photo of your child or children. You can use a regular 4×6 print or edit a computer file and print it at home on paper. School pictures make for a great option!
  2. Glue the photo to the sticks. You can cut the photo into pieces and then glue them on individually. You can also put glue on the back of the photo and lay out the popsicle sticks side-by-side and then cut in between each stick. *It is recommended that you use the same color popsicle stick for each photo.
  3. Mix and match! If you have more than one child, you can mix up all the pieces and have them find their face and put it back together. If you have one child, you put the pieces in the wrong order and have the child put the pieces back in the right order. You can also use different pictures of the same child and mix them up and have them piece together each picture correctly.

Songs

  1. Shake Your Sillies Out
    • This silly song is great for getting kids moving and laughing. As they shake their sillies out, they can act out the different movements in the lyrics.
  2. If You’re Happy and You Know It
    • This well-known song is a great way to get kids moving and dancing around. There are many different actions that can be done along with the song, so everyone can join in the fun!
  3. Wake Up!
    • This upbeat song has little verses for different animals, like dogs, cats, tigers, and more. As each animal wakes up, they do a different movement. This is a great way to get the kids moving and acting like different animals!
