Let’s Hear from George Wolf
When George was in middle school, he began participating in an Aaron’s Acres fundraising event entitled, “Volley for Kids”. For a good number of years, he played volleyball with his friends and supported our organization. Fast forward to the pandemic, when he returned to Lancaster after living in NYC, he reached out to Aaron’s Acres and expressed an interest in meeting with us to learn more about our organization and possible ways in which he could become involved and volunteer. Following just one meeting with the Executive Director and the Director of Development, George hasn’t stopped volunteering with us, here, there and everywhere!
His excitement, passion and willingness to help in whatever way is needed is greatly appreciated by everyone involved with our organization. Helping to set up and clean up for one of our events, taking pictures at camp and at our Chuckie Magee Flag Football and Cheerleading program, directing traffic at our Resource Fair, being a member of our Events and Outreach Committee, leading a sub- committee of our board to focus on one of our organizational goals, or representing Aaron’s Acres Board on the first day of camp and welcoming parents as they drop off their children—the list goes on and on! At all times, in his interactions with the board and with the Administrative Team, his focus is on helping us to achieve our long-term objectives and mission to support children and young adults with disabilities.
George shared the following:
“Volunteering at Aaron’s Acres has been a deeply fulfilling experience, allowing me to work alongside an exceptional team dedicated to making a meaningful difference in the lives of our members and their families. I am continually inspired by the joy and growth I witness during camp sessions and recreational programs like the Chuckie Magee Flag Football league. Seeing the smiles on our members’ faces is a powerful reminder of the impact we can make together. I am grateful for the opportunity to contribute to such a wonderful community, and I look forward to being part of Aaron’s Acres’ bright future.”
When George is not volunteering for Aaron’s Acres, he works at Guidewise which he co-founded. It is an HR-focused AI-powered software company. In this free time, he enjoys reading, photography, videography, Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, and cooking.
Starting out at a young age, George wanted to be a part of an event that supported a non-profit organization. Being with his friends and having a good time all was a positive for him. An easy way to raise money while having fun turned into a strong, committed relationship in which Aaron’s Acres is most grateful. Having George on our board and having him involved with so many different aspects of our organization has been a blessing to all of us! Thank you George.
