A Message from Director of Development & Community Relations, Kate Mullen

As we quickly approach the end of the year, we are all excited for what the New Year will bring! For one, we will mark the 25th anniversary of Aaron’s Acres in 2023! But first, we would like to take a moment to reflect on this past year and consider all that Aaron’s Acres has accomplished over the past year as an organization and as a community dedicated to supporting young people with disabilities.

You have seen their faces and have heard their stories through our newsletters, blog entries and social media posts… our participants are remarkable and we are grateful that we were able to spend time together over the past year – growing, laughing and creating memories during our summer camp and school year programs. In 2022, we were thrilled to be able to once again offer full-day programming during the summer, following two years of restrictions and limitations due to COVID-19. We once again enjoyed many favorite activities together, such as swimming, horseback riding, music, games, crafts and fitness! We were also excited to get back out into our community with those taking part in our Aaron’s Acres Acts of Kindness (AAAOK) program! Participants gave back to the community by volunteering at Power Packs, Re-Uzit, CrossNet Ministries, Garden Spot Village and Habitat for Humanity.

This year we also added a new program that has allowed us to serve even more young people and to expand the ages that we are currently serving. The Chuckie Magee Flag Football and Cheerleading League welcomed 25 participants this fall and we had a lot of fun together throughout the season!

Our participants and their families are why we do what we do here at Aaron’s Acres, but YOU are the how. You are the piece that completes our puzzle, allowing dreams to come true and helping create an environment where children and young adults with disabilities feel welcome, seen and accepted. Your kind support is also what allows us to think bigger, dig deeper and challenge ourselves to do more each day for those whom we serve at Aaron’s Acres!

As we wrap up 2022, please know that we are grateful for your dedication to Aaron’s Acres.

Thank you for all your help throughout 2022 and supporting all that we look forward to accomplishing in 2023!
