An Important Message

Dear Friends:

Last week, our Administrative Team made a very difficult decision to not have camp this summer.  Over the years, we have built a positive rapport with the children and young adults served through our recreational programs and their families. Our first priority is and has always been the safety and well-being of our participants. Families have come to trust our staff and our organization. Please know that during this time, and always, we remain committed and our work continues!

As many of you know, our team never sits still. It is our hope that we will hold some kind of a virtual camp program during the summer. Plans are in the works and more details will follow. What we are certain about is the following: we will not be charging our families but we will be paying our site supervisors, group leaders and counselors who participate in leading this virtual camp program. Their time and effort is something that all of us cherish as we know they have always given more than 100% to our campers!  In addition, performers, specialists, trainers and friends of Aaron’s Acres who dedicate their time and share their talents during this virtual camp will also be compensated.

This summer will be extremely different for all of us, but we are committed to providing meaningful, fun activities for our campers. We are grateful for everyone’s past support and interest in Aaron’s Acres. We hope to have your continued support as we move forward.  Tomorrow is #GivingTuesdayNow and we ask those who are able to participate in some way – this includes acts of kindness, advocacy for causes like children with disabilities and donations to organizations like Aaron’s Acres. Our dreams and our goals are to continue to meet the needs of families that are raising children with disabilities in the years to come. With your help, this work will continue and we can meet that goal.

For now, we hope everyone stays safe and remains healthy.

Fondly,

Risa
