Let’s hear from… Aaron’s Acres’ Board President… Bob Biddle!

Aaron’s Acres is excited to announce its 2024 President of its Board of Directors! We are excited to have Board President Robert Biddle, Manager of Financial Operations for Charter Homes & Neighborhoods. Bob shares his unique perspective on Aaron’s Acres as the current Board President.

Having previously lived in the Philadelphia area, I had been involved in several non-profits and always found it very personally fulfilling. That all disappeared when I took a job in Lancaster and began the 1.5 hour commute each way for the next two years. Eventually, we decided to move the whole family to Lancaster and suddenly I found myself with the time and desire to get involved again. Being a new resident in the Lancaster area, I started looking for opportunities to contribute and while having dinner with an acquaintance who was a previous board member, he happened to mention Aaron’s Acres was looking for some new board members. Interested, I began learning what I could about the organization and found nothing other than praise and excitement for its future growth. Discussing with my wife (a high school teacher at Manheim Township), she knew about the organization and wholeheartedly encouraged me to get involved. After meeting with Risa, visiting camp and getting to know some of the board members, it was clear that Aaron’s Acres was something I wanted to be a part of.

Years later, now as board President, I look back on how blessed I have been to be a part of what the organization has grown to become. I honestly can’t say that I’ve ever been involved with an organization, staff, volunteers, and board that care as much about our mission as we have here at Aaron’s Acres. I have learned constantly from those around me and been inspired by everyone at every level in what they bring to Aaron’s Acres and how that has contributed to our spectacular growth over the years. To be able to be part of the team planning and implementing our strategy to build and expand our mission to serve our kids has been such a blessing.

In my time as a board member, I have always been impressed with the people of Aaron’s Acres. Last year, when I was asked to consider stepping into my role as board president, I gladly accepted. What came after that was nothing short of humbling. To have a front row seat in seeing the level of enthusiasm, skill, dedication, and growth mindset that everyone has brought is amazing. Furthermore, the reputation these folks have created has been instrumental in bringing amazing new talent to our board and I’m beyond excited to see them continue the tradition of excellence Aaron’s Acres has been known for. For every smile, laugh, song, and hug I’ve seen created along the way, I can honestly say that I couldn’t be prouder to have been a part of it and look forward to building countless more.
