These are both examples of peer-to-peer fundraising campaigns. Examples also include crowdfunding, occasion-specific fundraisings and participating in events like team fun runs.

Why become a peer-to-peer fundraiser?

Peer-to-peer fundraising is an easy way to support your favorite organizations! Your personal fundraising page is a unique link specific to you and your involvement with the associated nonprofit organization. It allows you to share your personal story or experience. It also allows you to share the information with family and friends through social media, text or email. Family and friends are far more likely to donate to a cause that’s important to you when the ask is coming from you, rather than a general message from the organization.
