Peer-to-Peer Fundraising

Did you ever notice that when people fundraise, they often reach out to family and friends first? This makes a lot of sense! Friends and family can connect with you and your personal experiences and often that makes it easier to connect with the cause or reason behind your fundraising efforts. Peer-to-peer fundraising is built on this idea — personal connections empower both the fundraiser and the fundraiser’s community and networks to support a common cause.

If you are passionate about our organization and want to help mobilize supporters by sharing information and encouraging others to donate, you can actively advocate for Aaron’s Acres when you participate in a peer-to-peer fundraising campaign!

What is peer-to-peer fundraising?

Peer-to-peer fundraising allows people like you to support organizations like Aaron’s Acres through personal fundraising pages.

You may be familiar with birthday fundraisers through Facebook or Fundraising Champions during Lancaster County Community Foundation’s Extraordinary Give. These are both examples of peer-to-peer fundraising campaigns. Examples also include crowdfunding, occasion-specific fundraisings and participating in events like team fun runs.

Why become a peer-to-peer fundraiser?

Peer-to-peer fundraising is an easy way to support your favorite organizations! Your personal fundraising page is a unique link specific to you and your involvement with the associated nonprofit organization. It allows you to share your personal story or experience. It also allows you to share the information with family and friends through social media, text or email. Family and friends are far more likely to donate to a cause that’s important to you when the ask is coming from you, rather than a general message from the organization.

A fundraising page usually includes information about the nonprofit, details of the campaign the individual is supporting and, if it’s a team effort, notes about the collective fundraising objective. Then it’s time to personalize! You’ll want to add your “why”, your fundraising goal and some photos.

This is also a great way to support an organization when you cannot personally donate funds to an organization but would like to advocate for an organization and encourage others to donate.
