“I am the director of Aaron’s Acres and have been with the organization since it first began in 1998. I have my master’s degree in social work. When I was younger, my dream was to create programs for children who have special needs—I am now living out that dream and it feels wonderful! Prior to Aaron’s Acres, I was affiliated with Roseville Pediatrics in Lancaster, PA as a psychotherapist treating children, adolescents and their families. I am also involved with my congregation working on social action committees. I live with my husband in Lancaster and have 2 grown sons (who both live in New York City). When I am not working, I spend my time with family, friends, exercising and reading.”
I was welcomed into the Aaron’s Acres family in the summer of 2006, amazed by the fact that the children stole my heart on the very first day. I was excited to return the next year. The excitement, pride, challenges and joy that is experienced every day at camp makes my journey with this organization one that I hope to continue for years to come. Moving into the Program Director role in 2013 was a wonderful change. I look forward to the next steps of Aaron’s Acres as we continue to grow the organization and the programs we offer. The friendships I have made with the staff and families over the years are something I cherish, and I hope to have many more years of laughter, fun and memories with Aaron’s Acres.
My first summer with Aaron's Acres was as a counselor right after high school graduation, back in 2017, and at that time I was just looking for a summer gig. But, from the very first day, I was absolutely in love with summer camp. It was exhausting & rewarding in all the best ways, and I just couldn't get over how everyone was welcome at camp. The motto "embracing possibilities beyond disabilities," really resonated with me and completely changed my career path. Over the next eight summers, I transitioned from a counselor to a group leader, and then to a site supervisor while going to school for Rehabilitation and Human Services (B.S) & Special Education (M.S). In that time, I also worked within Inclusive Post-Secondary Education Programs that assisted students with intellectual disabilities to attend college! Now, in 2024, I am beyond excited to continue my work with this organization in my new role to create more opportunities, more relationships, and more fun for our families!
I am grateful to be part of the Aaron’s Acres team, helping to support families in our community! I grew up in Lancaster and I’m so happy to now be raising my own family here. I enjoy spending my free time with my husband and two daughters, who can often be found out on the volleyball court or the soccer field!
I am passionate about serving others and have worked for over 20 years in the non-profit sector since earning my degrees in Communication. I love sharing about Aaron’s Acres and I hope to have the chance to meet you soon! I have a passion for serving others and have worked for nearly 20 years in the non-profit sector. I’ve earned both my Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in the field of Communication and I also serve as an adjunct instructor at the Pennsylvania College of Health Sciences.
"After working for over a decade in the for-profit side of finance and administration, I made the switch to non-profit. I am thrilled to now be part of an organization that supports individuals with varying abilities and their families. Seeing the smiles and accomplishments and hearing the stories from our families make each day rewarding.
In my free time, I enjoy hanging out with my family, traveling, serving through my church, getting lost in a good book, or catching up with friends."
